Through TelcoFabric, BubbleRAN provides a pathway for contributors, researchers, operators, vendors, and enterprises to co-create, publish, reuse, and validate telecom artifacts at scale.

CTIS4NIS (CyberThreat Information Sharing enabling Network and Information systems Security) develops technologies, tools, and processes that support the monitoring, handling, and sharing of cybersecurity information across telecom infrastructures and digital ecosystems. The project brings together regulators, cybersecurity authorities, telecom operators, SMEs, and research organizations to improve preparedness, prevention, response, and recovery against cyber threats. BubbleRAN investigates and develops solutions to the security of 5G/6G RAN Network functions against attacks that can come from the data plane or control plane. We will develop 5G security and cyberthreat intelligence tool box allowing to profile and analyse both threads and attacks and enforce policies to mitigate them.
The MultiX project aims to revolutionize the 3GPP Radio Access Network (RAN) design and operation by developing a pioneering MultiX fusion Perceptive 6G-RAN system (MP6R) that will support an integrated multisensor, multi-static, multi-band, and multi-technology paradigm to enable multi-sensorial perception for future 6G sensing applications. BubbleRAN will design and develop intelligent 5G+ RAN automation and optimization methods enhanced by MultiX sensing data. We will work on Siemens's factory automation use-case (MultiX PoC 1, TRL 4-6) and will build a network digital twin of this PoC in the controlled laboratory environment to serve as a experimentation and validation playground. Our effort here will extend the work performed in the context of EU HORIZON-JU-SNS-2023 6G-Senses project.
6G-Cloud aims to realize an intelligent (AI-Native) service-oriented 5G+/6G system atop a cloud continuum with business interfaces for a multistake holder environment.In addition, an enhanced E2E network slicing combining 5GC and RAN will be devised. 6G-Cloud will incorporate scalability, sustainability, resilience, and security requirements into the 5G+/6G system design. BubbleRAN will leverage and extend the [MX-PDK](/products/mx-pdk) product to build 6G-cloud Proof-of-Concept demonstration (TRL 6-7) highlighting the innovations towards 6G. Our efforts are focused around intelligent network service provisioning with real-time control fabric (O-RAN v2.0).
6G-Senses integrates emerging integrated sensing and communication technologies (ISAC), Cell-Free (CF) Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO), and Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RISs) to validate a subset of 6G vision (TRL 4-5). Sensing information, measured and reported using O-RAN near-RT RAN Intelligent controller (RIC), will be used for control optimization purposes using xApps and rApp, e.g. spectrum sharing. BubbleRAN will leverage and extend the MX-PDK product to build 6G-Sense Proof-of-Concept demonstration (TRL 4-5) highlighting the innovations towards 6G. Our efforts is focused on the integration of new 6G technologies, design and development of new O-RAN service model for sensing and design and development of real-time control fabric (O-RAN v2.0) in support of ISAC applications.
5G-TACTIC focuses on 5G networks Cybersecurity and Trust and brings together National Regulation Authorities from 3 EU Members States and Cybersecurity Authorities from 3 Member States, technology innovating European SMEs developing Open 5G solutions and security services, infrastructure providers & mobile network operators. 5G-TACTIC technical activities include development of a 5G Cybersecurity toolbox, extensive 5G security analysis in any environment, evaluation, testing and relevant mitigation measures. BubbleRAN will leverage and extend the MX-PDK product to develop a 5G security toolbox capable of profiling security holes in 4C (code, container, cluster, cloud) dimensions and enforcing security profile to a particular network service while ensuring compliance (MITRE and NIST). BubbleRAN will build a Proof-of-Concept demonstration (TRL 6-8) to highlighting the innovation made in the project in realistic scenarios.
Intelligent operations and optimization empowered by Open Development Ecosystem tailored to 5G/6G applications are one of the most important unsolved problems for our mission. Techniques like cloud-native automation, Open-RAN/O-RAN programmability, GenAI/AI based multi-agent intelligence, Network Digital Twin framework, and Integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) combined with our IP such as ECO-RAN, Auto-RAN, Auto-Slice are helping us getting closer, and we are actively researching new techniques to help us fill the gaps and contribute to open science.
