BubbleRAN launches the first AI Blueprint for autonomous telecom network configuration, powered by the NVIDIA AI Entreprise, to optimize network configuration and planning
Milestone for agentic AI in telecom
BubbleRAN today announced the first AI blueprint for Telecom networks, developed as part of the ongoing collaboration with Telenor and NVIDIA on evolving agentic AI solutions for Telecom towards autonomous networks. The Network Configuration AI Blueprint leverages BubbleRAN’s software and datasets with NVIDIA’s customized Large Telco Models (LTMs) to optimize network parameters. The AI blueprint combines historical data for initial recommendations with real-time analytics for continuous optimization. By merging AI insights with operational control, telco engineers and operations teams can set parameter values correctly, enhancing the network performance and efficiency while ensuring optimal user experience. This solution effectively transforms network tuning into a closed-loop autonomous workflow while ensuring transparency and human oversight for optimizing the telecom systems.
The Network Configuration AI Blueprint includes BubbleRAN’s End-to-End 5G O-RAN solution, NVIDIA NIM microservices for llama-3.1-70b-instruct, together with an open source AI framework (LangGraph) and database engine (SQLite). The model is trained with BubbleRAN datasets, including over-the-air data generated in a lab setup, to simulate the impact of multiple configuration scenarios on key performance metrics like bitrate and SNR (signal-to-noise ratio). Using this data, a structured table is created to show trade-offs between performance and resource usage.
The Network Configuration AI Blueprint shows the entire tool chain for 5G network deployment, from dataset generation to AI-based flow optimization. This advanced blueprint not only improves network efficiency and user quality of service but also reduces operational complexity and time-to-resolution in production environments. Through this collaboration, BubbleRAN and NVIDIA are accelerating the adoption of Agentic AI solutions for improving 5G network operations, paving the way toward autonomous networks. Telecom industry leaders such as Telenor, and more specifically their subsidiary Telenor Maritime, provider of advanced connectivity for the maritime industry, are currently adopting this AI Blueprint enabling them to explore benefits of AI on use cases such as a 5G recommendation system based on digital twinning.
Leadership Insights
“This marks a milestone for agentic AI in telecom, delivering near-optimal RAN configurations to hit target KPIs. It creates an open ecosystem with a collaborative platform for operators, vendors, and researchers to pioneer AI-driven network optimization and planning tools.” said Navid Nikaein, CEO at BubbleRAN.
“Complex telco network settings require constant tuning based on time of day, changing traffic patterns and anomalous events, making it a high frequency, high impact task that directly impacts network performance and user-experience,” said Chris Penrose, Vice President of Business Development Telco at NVIDIA. “BubbleRAN and NVIDIA’s latest AI Blueprint solve this challenge with agentic AI, powered by NVIDIA AI Enterprise, enabling a network configuration advisor that helps operations teams confidently set correct parameters each time, ensuring an intelligent, transparent decision-making process for network optimization.”
